Whew!!! Are y’all ready to have this conversation???
This is definitely a challenging one. Many times we are taught how to cope with losing a family member or friend due to death or how to move on from the loss of a romantic relationship, BUT rarely do we have the conversation on what to do when a friendship ends.
Believe it or not, grieving the loss of a friendship can be extremely emotional, especially if you had a really close bond with someone. I have been through this a couple of times, but the last encounter had me on an emotional rollercoaster. The pain can seem unbearable and the process can seem everlasting. But even in the midst of everything I was going through I had to learn how to hearken unto God’s voice and allow Him to guide me through the process of healing. Here are 5 points that helped me get through it.
1. Acknowledge that it happened
2. The relationship may have failed, but you are not a failure
3. Forgiveness is key (forgive them and/or forgive yourself)
4. Let go and be kind to yourself
5. Wish them well
So, join me for a story time as we talk through how to move on after a friendship has ended. You might want to get your 🍿 for this one 👀
